NDIS SERVICE 9D CARE

Short and Medium-Term Accommodation

9D Care can help eligible participants explore temporary accommodation and disability support where the arrangement is funded, suitable and available.

Short-Term Accommodation (STA)

STA provides temporary disability support away from a participant's usual home. It may be used for a short stay, a change of routine or respite where it aligns with the participant's plan and current NDIS rules. Before accepting a booking, we confirm dates, location, support ratio, overnight arrangements, health and behaviour needs, accessibility, staffing, inclusions, transport, pricing and cancellation terms.

Medium-Term Accommodation (MTA)

MTA can provide temporary accommodation for an eligible participant who is ready to leave their current setting but is waiting for a confirmed longer-term home solution. MTA generally funds the accommodation component rather than day-to-day support, so support funding and service arrangements must also be confirmed. MTA may be relevant during hospital discharge or while waiting for supported living, home modifications or another eligible longer-term arrangement. Eligibility and funding decisions are made by the NDIA.

Important availability note

Accommodation is arranged according to the individual referral. 9D Care does not guarantee a vacancy, location or support ratio until suitability, funding and current capacity have been checked. Short-Term Accommodation — NDIS ↗ | Medium-Term Accommodation — NDIS ↗

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Frequently asked questions

MTA is generally the temporary accommodation component. The participant's daily support must be funded and arranged separately.

We will check promptly, but availability, funding, support ratio, health needs and safe staffing must be confirmed before acceptance.

We provide written information about the accommodation, agreed support, staffing ratio, overnight arrangement, meals or other inclusions, transport, personal costs and cancellation terms that apply to the proposed booking.

Yes. We can complete an initial suitability and capacity check, although no booking is confirmed until dates, funding, participant needs, consent and safe staffing are agreed.

Possibly. We review the property, equipment, worker competencies, support ratio, plans and risks for each referral. A stay cannot proceed if the environment or staffing cannot safely meet the participant's needs.

Tell us the preferred area and dates. We will check current availability and suitability, but a particular property, location or timeframe cannot be guaranteed.
