Frequently asked questions
Sometimes, but complex services often require additional time for assessments, worker matching, training, meet-and-greets or multiple-worker rostering.
No. Support workers perform only the agreed tasks within their role and competency. Nursing assessment and clinical decisions remain with appropriately qualified practitioners.
Depending on the task, we may request current health plans, clinical instructions, medication records, behaviour support plans, risk assessments, emergency procedures, equipment information and practitioner contact details.
Workers must have the training and demonstrated competency required for their agreed tasks. This may include participant-specific instruction, competency assessment or clinical oversight before they work independently.
These arrangements may be available where they are assessed, funded, safely planned and within current workforce capacity. We confirm the staffing ratio, worker competencies and escalation arrangements before commencement.
Tell us as early as possible. We may need updated clinical instructions, a risk review, different worker skills, additional staffing or changes to the service agreement before continuing the affected task.
